REMINDER!

The program is designed for students in 3rd through 6th/7th grade. .
If another mom wants to coordinate a field trip for older kids on another day,
Faust Park does do the program at a high school level, as well.
They will adapt the methods by which the work gets done to be appropriate and challenging for high schoolers.

The program focuses on the Louisiana Purchase and early Missouri history during the era of Frederick Bates, the second governor of Missouri.
Students get a hands-on understanding of the lifestyle of Missouri's immigrant and emigrant settlers in the early 1800s
through doing kitchen chores, making butter, splitting rails, grinding corn, and sawing a log. The program is 90% hands-on.

Since the program is four hours long and involves manual labor, it is not appropriate for younger siblings.
Moms with younger siblings are encouraged to drop off their older children with the group
and enjoy the delights of Faust Park with their younger children.
