The tour guide is limiting the group to 30 students but unlimited parents and this helps
me keep track of how many students in each tour.
NOTE: We have the Museum and picnic grounds to ourselves that day! 
Mastodon Park was added to the state park system in 1976, in order to preserve the Kimmswick Bone Bed. The Park is a significant paleontological and archaeological site because scientists discovered the first solid evidence of coexistence of humans and the North American mastodon! Featured in the museum is an interpretive video, displays of artifacts and fossils along with a replica of a mastodon skeleton. There are two time slots available, with 30 students per program. This will allow us up to 60 students!
The museum presents both a fun and interesting program to learn about these massive creatures that lived and walked on the Earth at the same time as humans! In addition, the park system is offering this entire program free of charge! On past visits everyone has enjoyed their time at the museum. Even Mom and Dad!
There is a very nice picnic area on the grounds with a shelter, tables, restrooms and playground. Please refer to the website for more information and specific directions. Remember too that the town of Kimmswick is close by if you decide to spend some leisure time there walking and shopping.
